Mechanical principle of RV reducer

The German Laurenz Blanc in 1926 creatively put forward a kind of less gear difference planetary transmission mechanism, it is with the external pendulum as the tooth profile curve, this is the earliest needle pendulum planetary transmission, due to the two meshing gears one of which adopts the form of pinwheel, this transmission is also known as the pendulum pinwheel planetary gear transmission.

　　RV drive a new transmission mode, it is in the traditional needle pendulum planetary transmission on the basis of the development, not only to overcome the shortcomings of the general needle pendulum transmission, but also because of the small size, light weight, large ratio range, long life, precision to maintain stable, high efficiency, smooth transmission and a series of advantages.

　　Take the RV-E type reducer as an example.

1st Reduction Section…Spur Gear Reduction Mechanism

The rotation of the input shaft is transmitted from the input gear to the spur gear, which reduces the speed according to the ratio of the number of teeth. This is the first reduction section.

2nd reduction section…Differential gear reduction mechanism

The spur gear is connected to the crankshaft and becomes the input of the 2nd reduction section. The RV gear is mounted on the eccentric portion of the crankshaft through a rolling bearing. In addition, the pinion teeth, which are only one more than the number of RV gears, are arranged at the same pitch on the inside of the housing.

　　If the fixed housing rotates the spur gear, the RV gear performs an eccentric movement due to the eccentric movement of the crankshaft. At this point, if the crankshaft rotates one week, the RV gear rotates one tooth in the direction opposite to the crankshaft. This rotation is output to the shaft of the 2nd reduction section. When the shaft is fixed, the housing side becomes the output side.
